In '67 Mike started pilot training and had three exchange tours. On Gannets on the Ark Royal, as a Jet Provost QFI in Australia and on the Boeing 707 in Canada. He moved to VC-10s at Brize Norton in '84 before retiring in '89. He then flew the Boeing 747 for ten years with BA and eight years with Virgin.
Now he works part-time on the Boeing 737 simulator in Jerez, Spain. Mike spends his time between Newbury Berks, Melbourne (where one of his sons lives) and on his boat off the Balearic Islands.

Steve Rawlings

Steve was initially posted to Medmenham for four years before being posted to Aden, then Brize Norton and whilst a Cpl at Colerne purchased his discharge in Feb '72. Living in Carterton, Oxon he spent three years with an Insurance Co, then a year in the building trade before spending a further four years as Contracts Manager. Steve started his own business in '80 before semi-retirement for medical reasons in '92.
Since '03 he's been retired to Hervey Bay, Queensland. |
