Phil left at his 12 year point as a Cpl. He made a career in IT, gaining an MSc in Computer Science in the process and now lives in High Wycombe, Bucks

 



Dave Birt

Sighted at High Wycombe in 1964. Dave left the mob after 15 years as a Cpl and joined Southern Electrics and rose to become Manager of their Emergency Services Dept. With astute Stock/Property investments, Dave divided his time between Cowplain, Hants and Spain

Dave sadly died after a short illness in late Feb '12.

John was last sighted at HQ RAF Germany in 1977.

 

 

 


David Cousins - ex 41st

Dave was with us for the Spring term before he re-mustered to RAF Police and is now living in Spalding

 

 

 

Tony Flynn

Tony left the RAF as a Sgt in 1974. He now lives in his native Cornwall, and worked for local government until being made redundant in 2000. Tony worked as a Contracts Manager for the NHS Supplies Service in Cornwall until finally retiring in June '10. 

He now lives on the Lizard peninsula and has switched to a dark blue uniform as a voluntary watchkeeper with the National Coastwatch Institution at Bass Point on the most southerly point of England.

Silveo 'Don' Giles FCIEA, BA, DIP T (SEC)

Don did an SDL tour at Fontainebleu before being invalided out of the RAF in 1967 as a result of a rugby injury.  He went out to Australia, got an Accounting & Economics degree from Adelaide University and became a lecturer.   Returning to UK in 1978, he now lectures part-time at Bournemouth University, has written four books on Financial Accounting and lives in Poole, Dorset.

 

Harry Gilbert BEd

Harry did a tour at Steamer Point in 1965 before leaving the RAF as a Cpl in 1974 and becoming a Buyer for an enginering company. In 1978 he became an Administrator for a Saudi Arabian company and did three 18 month stints on the Yanbu project.

Harry then went into full-time education and obtained a BEd and taught for seven years at a school in Middlesborough. From that point until his retirement in 2007, he worked in a secure unit for adolescents. He lives in Darlington, Durham.

Keith Green

Sighted at Kai Tak in 1974 as a Sgt and commissioned in 1976. Keith retired as Wg Cdr in 1999 to Coleford, Glos and in 2010 moved to Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex.

Peter ceased training after one term

 

 

 


Keith Harden

Keith had a stint in Canberra and later sighted in Cyprus in the early '70s as a Cpl, took a commission in 1979 and finally retired in 1999 as a Wg Cdr to Milnathort, Kinross.

He was working part-time for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation as a Chief Examiner until final retirement in April 2008


Dave Hopewell

Retired from Stanmore in 1984 as a Sgt. Dave worked for The Dependants' Fund and lived in Ruislip, Middlesex until his untimely death in July 2008

Roy Lockert

Initially posted to Abingdon, Roy served in Sharjah and Biggin Hill before remustered to ALM in late 1966. He started on Hastings before moving on to C130s. 1982 to 1987 saw Roy trialling many aircraft types at Boscombe Down. Another five years on C130s before a stint at MoD and his retirement as a MALM in 1996.

For some years he was the Secretary of Bath & County Club. Currently Roy works part-time managing a large retirement development.


Stuart 'Roger' Longbottom

Roger was spotted working in the British Embassy in Niarobi from 1976 to 1979 and retired as a WO from Cranwell in 1993. He then joined 'The Met' and finally became an Executive Officer before retiring a second time. Roger lived in Huddersfield, Yorkshire before his death in Jan '12 after a long illness.

Roger PVR'd himself 1986 whilst a WO, worked in the Civil Service and now lives in Norwich









Dave 'Jock' Wall

Recoursed to the 45th 'Jock' remustered to ATC and as a FS left the RAF in 1992. Now living in Watton, Norfolk.

 

 

 

Ian Webster

Ian left the RAF as a WO in 1988 but sadly deceased since June 2002

Mick Whelan

Mick was sighted in Changi in 1966 and left as a Cpl in 1973 to emigrate to Toronto, Canada. Now retired from a career in the IT industry.


 


Tony Williams

Tony was the 42nd's FSAA and went straight from Bircham to Cranwell. He was sighted in 1970 as OC Recruiting in Lincoln. Sighted again as a Wg Cdr in 1980, he retired at his 38/16 point and I understand ‘went up’ to Cambridge. Now living in St Ives, Cambs.
